ASMC Reports 56% Revenue Increase in the First Quarter

Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation Limited (HKEX: 3355) released 2006 first quarter results: revenue of RMB318.8 million and net income of RMB12.1 million.

Year-over-year, first quarter revenue increased 56.3% while gross profit increased 97.4%. Net income was RMB12.1 million compared to net loss of RMB16.2 million for 1Q05.

Quarter-over-quarter, revenue increased 16% from RMB275.7 million in 4Q05. Gross profit was RMB48.2 million, up 83% compared to gross profit of RMB26.3 million in the last quarter. Operating expenses amounted to RMB28.0 million, decreased 40% from RMB46.5 million in 4Q05. Net margin increased to 3.8% from -7.8% last quarter.
